Abstract

I discuss in this paper the narrative framework in three different short stories written after Boccaccio’s Decameron: Il Trecentonovelle, Il Novelliere, Il Pecorone. The study of the narrative framework in this short stories is related to Boccaccio’s Decameron and, above all, to the Eastern narrative tradition, since the main types of narrative framework which belong to narratio brevis during the Western Middle Ages derive from the latter source.
