Abstract

The destruction of the Spanish bibliographic heritage by the Franco side during the Spanish Civil War and the first Régimen is discussed in this article. The burning of books, the debugging of the publishing market and bookseller funds and the weeding of libraries became an imperative for the military authorities. The target was to eliminate every pernicious publication that had poisoned the mind and soul of the spaniards.
