Abstract

Despite their different methods, terminology and especially their different view of the text, the genetic critic and the crítica delle varianti have created an interesting debate among its members although it has not succeeded. This article studies the main circunstances of this failure, the main features of these disciplines and the advantanges and disadvantages of their methods in two texts: Paisajes después de la batalla of Juan Goytisolo and La media noche written by Ramón del Valle Inclán.
