The purpose of this paper is to analyze the teaching and learning process in
first-year students of the Double Degree in Law and Management and Public
Administration (hereinafter, Law-MPA) during the second semester of the 2016-
2017 academic year. The teaching process focuses on the analysis of self-prepared
practical cases by the teacher to address the study of the subject Roman Law
Institutions. The case method helps on a significant way to the students to raise
questions and try to find their possible solutions or answers on their own, discussing
the different possibilities granted by the legal system for a given controversy.
Precisely for the reading and for the exhaustive analysis of the presented cases,
we promote the logical thought and the critical attitude and the use of a technical-
juridical language.
