Abstract

The proposed training in competencies is based on a simulation of a criminal
investigation, considered as a whole, from police actions to the completion of
judicial proceedings, through collaborative dynamics. The students will assume the
different roles involved in a criminal investigation, under the direction and

supervision of the professor. The approach of a practical multidelictual case
encourages the active, autonomous and collaborative learning of the students. As
the information regarding a criminal investigation arises, the factual information of
the case is brought to the attention of the students in a gradual and temporized way.
Students may dispose the main procedural instruments designed for the correct
achievement of investigative functions in accordance with the issuance of judicial
resolutions that progressively structure the criminal investigation. On the other
hand, the strategy that the defense will developed arises, using, among other aspects,
the different appearances and hearings tied to the system of appeals, motions and
remedies provided by the Spanish Rules of Criminal Procedure.
