Abstract

Ensuring adequate and comprehensive human rights training is essential for
the prevention of human rights violations and to achieve a more just society.
However, human rights trainers face certain challenges - perhaps more so than in
other areas of law - to which they must respond in an innovative way, involving
participants in the training process. Among these challenges is the great lack of
knowledge of international law in general and of international human rights
protection in particular. It is crucial for legal professionals to become familiar with
the various sources of international law and their incorporation into the national
legal system, so that they can respond to the changing and often urgent challenges
in this area.
