Abstract
Citizenship youth training in Mexico acquires fundamental dimensions at a historical moment in which the government indends to move to a new political regime with values and principles contrary to those that had been imposed under a bipartisan regime, with strong roots in conservative practices and corruption. This text analyzes the evaluations that young university students have regarding democracy and politics; their actions oriented to the public shpere; and their use of digital social networks in relation to citizen issues. The results shows that the students percieve a cracked and non-existent democracy; this opinion divides those who consider that this type of regime is better tan an authoritiarian one and those who point out that it would be better to haver tough leaders. Furthermore, the actions they carry out in public life are minimal and focus on the protection of animals and the signing of protest briefs. Finally, the students places great value on the participation of women in public and political life. This writing provides various lines of work for future researchers that focus on citizenship training and youth political participation.
