Abstract
Due to the pandemic that is being experienced worldwide, the educational system has turned towards a combined methodology of reduced presence in classrooms with online teaching, greatly increasing the use of information and communication technology (ICT). This study intends, based on this situation, to analyze digital resources and tools (which have been called "Digital Educational Satellites", by its acronym DES) that have been implemented in Higher Education, presenting the results obtained after using them. These tools help planning and self-regulation of learning considering motivation. Specifically, a sample of 179 students (mostly identified as female) of the first grade of Social Work at the Complutense University of Madrid participated in the subject of Basic Psychology. Pretest results have been compared with those obtained posttest and show that effort (variable included in expectations based on the perception of personal control) is related to both self-control and planning. Different digital resources have been differentiated, the motivational power that some of them have and the preferences of the students have been demostrated for including this type of tools in the classrooms.
