Didactic innovation in higher education through a card game of sociological concepts
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article presents an original contribution to the domain of sociology didactics. The initial diagnosis identified several challenges, particularly the students' inability to apply theoretical content to social reality. This highlighted the need for a didactic intervention, which included designing sequences based on active methodologies and collaborative learning, as well as developing a card game focused on sociological concepts. As a result, students' conceptual, procedural, and attitudinal learning improved. The card game received positive evaluations from the students, both quantitatively and qualitatively. They considered the experience a valuable addition to their knowledge, skills, and values, which will serve as essential tools in their future careers as social service professionals. This underscores the critical need to innovate teaching practices in higher education, particularly in the areas of didactics and teaching methodologies. It also challenges higher education institutions to prioritize the pedagogical training of educators, thereby enhancing the effective didactic transposition of content in the educational process of future professionals.
