Abstract

This study analyses the integration of artificial intelligence tools into research processes within intercultural higher education, based on a case study implemented in a postgraduate module. Guided by the TPACK framework and active learning methodologies, such as Research-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning, the intervention incorporated artificial intelligence tools such as Scholarcy, NotebookLM, Consensus, and Napkin to support the phases of literature search, analysis, synthesis, and curriculum design. The results indicate that artificial intelligence significantly improves the organisation and management of scientific information, enabling students to deepen their conceptual analyses and enhance the quality of their academic projects, provided that its use is integrated into a coherent and intentional pedagogical design. However, the development of critical thinking and the social construction of knowledge do not occur automatically but depend on sustained pedagogical mediation and structured opportunities for collaborative reflection and debate. The study concludes that artificial intelligence can be a valuable pedagogical resource for research in intercultural education when integrated contextually, ethically, and critically, contributing to more rigorous, reflective, and culturally grounded research practices.
