Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and digital transformation have become key drivers of competitiveness in the tourism and business sectors, influencing operational efficiency, customer experience, and innovation. To analyze the evolution and current state of scientific production on these topics between 2018 and 2023, a comparative bibliometric study was conducted using tools such as Publish or Perish, SPSS, Microsoft Excel, R-Studio, Bibliometrix, and VOSviewer. Results show a growing trend in research on digital transformation, while studies focused on ICT have slightly declined. Most literature addresses the business sector, especially SMEs, with less attention given to tourism subsectors such as transportation, travel agencies, restaurants, and hotels. The most cited articles focus on business digital innovation. Findings indicate that ICT-related studies tend to focus on usage diagnostics, whereas digital transformation research delves into its impacts. It is concluded that further research should target underexplored tourism subsectors, with emphasis on investment evaluation and implementation methodologies.
