Abstract
Hayao Miyazaki’s production is extensive and ranges from works for television, through video clips, to his enormous contribution to the cinematographic world. Throughout his filmography, a series of characteristics that define his works are appreciated: reiteration of themes, characters of great psychological depth, absence of evil characters, and a bast number of peculiarities that make the style of the Japanese director unique. However, in this article, we intend to trace the appearance of some of his most important hallmarks in productions prior to his film universe and to detect to what extent Miyazakian poetry has been able to evolve later. For this, it is essential to differentiate between television anime and cinematographic anime work and the author’s position regarding this dilemma. Likewise, we will focus on his television production and highlight those hallmarks of the author that we consider to be repeated both in works for television and for cinema, in order to establish a relationship between them.
