Abstract

The valorization of the industrial architecture in Spain during last years shows the relevance achieved by these buildings. However, industrial heritage is an inheritance that remains forgotten and far from protection. The reason is that these buildings are not usually characterized by their beauty or antiquity. Thus, the recent construction prevents us from making a fair assessment of its uniqueness and importance as an authentic heritage, even when some of them are already part of the art history. Unfortunately, we continue to demolish unique examples of this heritage, as the recent case of the flour factory «Panera Social» in Zamora, which in 2021 would have been a century-old industry. To avoid its extinction, it is urgent to draw attention to these architectures.
