Main Article Content
Abstract
This research addresses the process of insertion in the Cuban cultural circuit of the Cuban-American artist Nereida García Ferraz upon her return to her country of origin. The methodology implemented is multidisciplinary, it runs in fields of sociology, history, semiotics and reception to investigate with greater emphasis her personal exhibition in Casa de las Américas, Marcando el tiempo (2017), as this artistic fact is considered a forceful step in the process of insertion of the artist for containing, circulating and socializing her work. Most of the works are self-referential, reflecting on the traumatic experience of the artist's migratory process and on her hybrid identity. His artistic production, in spite of being exhibited on a national and international stage, is not addressed in any article in the national press and magazines.
