Main Article Content
Abstract
The third franciscan friars had a lawsuit in 1622 with the Duke of Arcos over a plot of land for the palace that they wanted to appropriate to continue with the works of the head of their church. So, the master alarife Mateo of Orellana was called by the duke and drew a plan of the palace when the saw the works. Three reports were made where the best masters alarifes and older masters builders of the city signed, Miguel de Zumárraga, Pedro Sánchez Falconete, Diego López Bueno, Andrés de Oviedo, Diego Gómez, Diego Martín Orejuela y Pedro García Ternero. Finally, in 1627, it was agreed that due to the transfer of the land from the duke of Arcos, a gallery would be carved out in the franciscan church.
