Main Article Content
Abstract
Photography has constituted since its invention a privileged means to capture heritage assets and cultural manifestations. This article studies the work of Tomás Camarillo (1879-1954), who exhaustively recorded the province of Guadalajara, its nature and culture. In order to estimate the value of his documentary and creative contribution, copies and unpublished photographs are analyzed. Within the wide visual repertoire, special attention is paid to landscapes, views of towns, public works, traditional scenes, portraits and manifestations of intangible heritage. It also reflects on the documentary, tourist and political uses of the collection.
