Abstract

The present research approaches the diffusion of the devotion to the Divine Shepherdess in the first decades of the 18th century. After the development of the brotherhood of Santa Marina, a group of faithful started a congregation for the same devotion in the parish of San Lorenzo. Thanks to his work it will be possible to date the creation of the carving of the Divine Shepherdess of San Lorenzo, currently in the convent of San Antonio, and to understand the outstanding diffusion of this devotion in modern society.
