Abstract

This article proposes a 3D digital reconstruction of the catafalque erected in 1724 in the Primatial Cathedral on the occasion of the funeral honors for King Louis I. It describes the different phases of creation and three-dimensional modeling of the ephemeral monument, whose virtualization has been carried out based on the analysis and interpretation of information provided by coetaneous historical sources, both documentary and literary, as well as the design of the catafalque by the painter José de Paz Ribera, which are preserved in the Municipal Archive of Toledo.
