La citti partenopea nel Filocolo di Giovanni Boccaccio

Main Article Content

Carmen F. BLANCO VALDÉS

Abstract

In this play by a youthful G. Boccaccio, the city of Naples enjoys a great prominence not only because it was there that his muse was born and he met her, but also because there he developed his literary taste as writer. Throughout the pages of this novel both the city of Naples and its surroundings as well as the intellectuals that Boccaccio met are described and sometimes touched upon within the fictions frame of its main characters. Thus, the goal of this contribution is to point out how this city and its intellectuals come to stage in some transcendental moments along this novel.
