Abstract

It is said that Alejandro Sawa was anticlerical and it was shown in his books. However, he did not denigrate all priests. Researchers have not given importance to the first Sawa´s text, where the young writer spoke well about Holy Father Pio IX. Later, between 1904 and 1907, he wrote new chronicles in favor of Pio X. This research wants to demonstrate that not only those words are not a contradiction, but also Alejandro Sawa defends some popes and clerics´ behavior because of his criticism is against bad habits of all people.
