“¿Para qué nos sirve la forma /que/?”

Abstract

This paper attempts to clarify the semantic function of the linguistic form que. With that purpose in mind I show a critical summary of the various explanations proposed. Then we attempt to justify that we only have two types of que: one has a deictic semantic function as a relative demonstrative nominal, while the other functions as an auxiliary morpheme that modifies the semantic function of the segment to which it is linked. 1 attempt to identify following this criterion the function of the form que in those cases considered more problematic or, even, considered anomalous.
