Degeneración del 70: an Andalusian eterodox Anthology versus Hegemonic Poetics

Main Article Content

Abstract

Poetry in the 1970s, emerging out of a kaleidoscopic socio-cultural context in transformation, was characterised by the heterogenity and polarity of many different currents. Although different approaches and paradigms have tried to shed light on the abundant and diverse poetic production of the time, there are still areas that demand critical attention. This essay analyses the textual corpus included in the anthology, “Degeneración del 70”, promoted by the collective from Córdoba “Antorcha de paja” as an example of countercultural ideology and as a dissident ethical and aesthetic proposal in relation to the prevailing trends. The aim is to highlight the literary contributions of the heterodox poets included in this volume and to point to this anthology as proof of the diverse poetic voices from the transition period, many of which have been obscured from a contemporary paradigm.
