Abstract

The tutorial function that is performed in universities is a task that, in general and for
different reasons, provokes misgivings among the teaching staff. Doubts that increase
when this counseling action are students who have special needs. Their performance is,
however, absolutely necessary to enable their integration, optimize their performance and
favor their integration into the professional world. Much progress has been made, but
there are still a number of shortcomings and many aspects to be improved, such as the
reinforcement of the role of the tutor or the coordination mechanisms between the
different services involved.
