Abstract

The educational scenarios cannot remain oblivious to the requirements of the societies of the 21st century. Digital competence is a key element for these, and it must be attended to by all the agents involved in its development. Supervisors of the quality of education, as guarantors of this, must be aware of their digital competence degree. The general objective of this study is to determine the perceptions expressed by the district technicians of the Dominican Republic on the cognitive aspect of their digital competence. The sample consisted of 164 of these educational agents. The ad hoc instrument designed considers the contributions of DigComp 2.0, showing high reliability and validity in the analyzes carried out. The most outstanding results show that these professionals consider themselves competent in digital matters and that the labour variables mediated by technology do not present significance in this perception. The most visible conclusion, although the results cannot be generalized, is that the district technicians of the Dominican Republic are well trained and educated in knowledge of digital aspects of their professional work.
