Integration of Augmented Reality in english language teaching in primary education: enhancing linguistic learning and vocabulary acquisition
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research focused on the integration of augmented reality (AR) in the teaching of English as a foreign language in primary education. The need to develop a methodology that promoted communicative competence and student autonomy, inspired by previous pedagogical approaches and supported by relevant academic literature, was recognized. The methodology was based on a qualitative approach, with an exhaustive review of the literature related to the application of AR in primary education and English teaching. A methodology focused on the creation of activities that promoted communicative competence and student autonomy was proposed. The importance of constantly updating activities and adapting them to different devices to maintain their relevance in the educational environment was highlighted. It was concluded that the integration of AR in the teaching of English as a foreign language in primary education can significantly improve student learning and motivation. Although limitations were identified, such as the need for devices and connectivity, it was suggested that the development of more accessible applications and the creation of an AR resource bank could overcome these obstacles in the future.
