IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON INCLUSIVE TEACHER EDUCATION. A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract

The emergence of emerging technologies, with special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), has had a substantial impact on teachers, as well as enabling better attention to segments of the student body, due to their characteristics of personalization and adaptability that become of high value for attention to the diversity of the classroom. Methods: This study presents a systematic review of original works focused on the use of emerging technologies for the strengthening of inclusive practices in teacher education. It had a qualitative exploratory-descriptive design, using the PRISMA protocol and the PICO strategy. Results: 20 articles published between 2021 and 2025, obtained from the Web of Science database, were analyzed. The results show a significant increase in scientific production in 2024, with China as the main contributor country (34%). Discussion and Conclusions: The role of AI in the personalization of learning, the design of training itineraries and the strengthening of teaching competencies is highlighted. This review provides systematized evidence on the role of AI in inclusive teacher education and points to the need to develop equitable ethical frameworks and digital literacy strategies.

Mgs. Danny Delgado-Togra, Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador

University and technical professor with more than 10 years of experience in education, specialized in instructional design, educational innovation with ICT, and management of research processes. He has worked as a postgraduate tutor, designer of digital educational resources and pedagogical advisor. She has a Master's degree in Educational Technology and Innovation and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Education Research, focusing her thesis on the use of artificial intelligence as a pedagogical tool.   He has led editorial and research processes as Director of Research, Development and Innovation, and is part of the external scientific committee of an indexed journal. He has published multiple scientific articles in journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, Redalyc, among others, addressing topics such as digital skills, virtual environments, school mediation and psychosocial risks in teaching.

Aurora González Velázquez, Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador

Psicóloga y Magíster en Psicopedagogía con una sólida trayectoria en el ámbito educativo, especializada en la atención psicoeducativa, acompañamiento emocional y diseño de estrategias de intervención en entornos escolares. Actualmente se desempeña como Coordinadora del Departamento de Consejería Estudiantil (DECE) en el Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador (Distrito 09D06), donde lidera acciones vinculadas a la atención de estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales, prevención de la violencia, orientación vocacional y contención en crisis.

Posee experiencia en formación e intervención con niños, adolescentes y familias, y ha participado activamente en programas institucionales como Recorrido Participativo, Educando en Familia y Aulas Seguras. Complementa su perfil con formación constante en temas como inteligencia emocional, violencia sexual infantil, inclusión educativa y metodologías innovadoras (STEAM, educación inicial, resolución dialógica de conflictos).

Ha contribuido a la producción científica con artículos en revistas indexadas y una publicación académica, abordando temáticas como el modelo pedagógico constructivista, la mediación escolar, el acompañamiento docente y los riesgos psicosociales en contextos de crisis. Sus publicaciones figuran en bases de alto impacto como Scielo, Web of Science, DOAJ y REDIB.

Su enfoque profesional integra el compromiso social, el bienestar emocional y la innovación pedagógica, consolidando una propuesta educativa inclusiva, empática y basada en evidencias.
