Vicent Briva-Iglesias is Assistant Professor in Translation Studies at the School of Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) at Dublin City University (DCU). Prior to this, he also completed his PhD on human-centered machine translation and human-computer interaction (HCI) at DCU.

Vicent's research areas are state-of-the-art language technologies and HCI. In Translation Studies, Vicent has substantial experience in localisation, translation ethics, and specialized translation and interpreting. He is a member of ADAPT, the Research Ireland Centre for AI-Driven Digital Content Technology, and has been funded by D-REAL, the SFI Research Centre for Digitally-Enhanced Reality and the EU COST Action CA19102 - Language in the Human-Machine Era. Despite being an early career researcher, Vicent has +14 publications in high-impact venues like the EAMT and NAACL proceedings (main conferences in language technology in Europe and the US) and journals like MonTI, Translation, Cognition and Behavior or Tradumàtica.

In addition to his role at DCU, Vicent is Adjunct Professor at McGill University (Canada) and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain), and frequently collaborates with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as an external researcher of AI for healthcare. Vicent also has a strong industry background: he has been working in the translation, interpreting, and localisation industry for +8 years, and runs AWORDZ Language Engineering, a small language services provider.
