Abstract

Didactic Audiovisual Translation (DAT) is an emerging discipline that has been firmly consolidated in the last two decades. This study is based on a brief historical overview of the development of the discipline which aims at exploring and opening new connections with other disciplines so as to seek synergies that can exploit the pedagogical potential of DAT. Bilingualism, transversality, emerging methodologies, and inclusive education are fundamental axes to trace the horizon of a discipline that can be key for language learners, as well as for translation and interpreting training.
