Towards a taxonomy of technical equipment used for Simultaneous Interpreting
Main Article Content
Abstract
The world of Interpretation has greatly evolved since the emerge of the technology which gave birth to simultaneous interpreting. SI is a young profession based on the use of a technical system. Despite the fact that this popular mode of interpreting relies heavily upon an electronic equipment that enables listening and speaking “at the same time”, there have notably been few scientific studies on the use of this equipment in the SI field. The aim of this article is to analyse the types of SI equipment than can be found in today´s professional market.
