Abstract
Our Paper is dealing with the relationship existing between communication, language, cognition and culture. The translation, conceived as a communication mediating between different languages and cultures, needs to be investigated in detail with regard to the concrete influences of the culture onto the lexicón, the textual conventions and the norms governing the production of regular academic texts and also onto the existing divergences between the thematic knowledge inherent to author and addresses.
