Los inicios de la poesía satírica en Francia
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper I discuss the beginnings of satire as an independent genre, going back to its history in ancient Greece and Rome, alongside with the etymology of the word concerned. After an analysis of the early manifestations in France, where the stress ¡s laid on the titles, I offer examples of Vauquelin de la Fresnaye -who actually sets up the satire as an independent genre thus reaching its definite form- and of the three satiric poets preceding Régnier, the most ¡mportant satirist of the 17lh century: Sigogne, Motín and Berthelot.
