John Oldham y la poesía satírica inglesa de la Restauración
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this papér I approach the lite and work of one of the four most relevant satmcal poets of the English Restauration period, John Oldham. After a brief historical review of the moral and socio-political environment of that age, I focus on the analysis of his most outstanding satirio verses, those which best hit the target: Satyr upon the Jesuits, a panegyric against the Papist conspiracy in England as viewed by the part of a young poet, who failed to develop all his Creative potential due to his early death.
