Abstract

Comparing translations is an exercise that can be carried out during the lessons on Specialised Translation in pairs just before starting to make a group correction of a translation that the students have done individually at home beforehand. The students compare in pairs their translations to see if there are differences and, if there are, they ask each other about their translation decisions for terms or sentences. This paper explains how to carry out this exercise of comparing translations in the classroom. There are also opinions from a survey about the comparison of translation exercises. The task has been carried out during one semester with students of the fourth year of the Degree in Translation and Interpreting undertaking the subject on Specialised Translation CA-AC (I).
