Abstract

The present paper attempts an analysis of some common technical aspects and thematic issues of the work of three Andalusian women poets from the mid-century generation: Julia Uceda, María de los Reyes Fuentes and Concha Lagos. The three authors studied in this paper conceive poems as a space where reflection is carried out, at the same time where experiences and thoughts are captured. The ideas and feelings I’m referring to are inextricably related to their own historical and private circumstances at the same time they are navigated by many social and inherently existential questions. The main aim of this paper is to study in depth the way in which those social and spiritual questions become lyrical cornerstones in the corpus of the above-mentioned poetesses.
