The Path to Sustainability: The Development Process of Ecuador's White Paper on Sustainable Bioeconomy and Its Positioning Strategy
Main Article Content
Abstract
The process of developing Ecuador's White Paper on Sustainable Bioeconomy began with identifying the country's main challenges and opportunities regarding bioeconomy, a model that promotes the sustainable and responsible use of biological resources. The work was led by an interdisciplinary team that included experts in sustainability, economics, biodiversity, and technology, along with the active participation of government actors, academics, and the private sector. The conceptualization phase was based on a comprehensive analysis of local capabilities, the potential of biological resources, and global market demands.
Subsequently, a communication strategy was designed to disseminate the principles and goals of the white paper and the concept of bioeconomy, engaging key audiences such as local communities, the private sector, and international organizations. The implementation is carried out through awareness campaigns, workshops, conferences, and the creation of strategic alliances to ensure broader adoption of bioeconomic practices throughout the country. The communication approach integrates both digital and traditional tools, maximizing impact and ensuring that the concepts of sustainability, innovation, and conservation are understood and applied at all levels.
