Abstract
Jonathan Swift is characterized by his numerous satirical writings, among which we can find his most important and recognized work, Gulliver's Travels. His own style and language provide the book with a solid unity, by means of which Swift persuades the reader and makes him believe that the story is completely true, even though it is evident the natural impossibility of the told events. However, such satirical contradictions are not always present in the several translations that have been made of this work
