Reflections on his Pictorial Art on the Occasion of the Publication of his first Novel.

Ángel GÓMEZ MORENO

Abstract

In the career of Eleazar, an artist from Jaén who lives in Barcelona, there is more than just traces of graffiti, comics and children's drawings. Just as important, if not more so, is the imprint of the most acid Goya: that of engravings, drawings and painting with a more limited chromaticism, with the absolute empire of black and white.  We also perceive the imprint of the continuators of the brilliant painter from Fuendetodos in the 19th century, such as Leonardo Alenza, Eugenio Lucas Velázquez and Eugenio Lucas Villaamil, who cultivated a similar satirical language.  As we shall see below, it bears the imprint of the costume paintings of the same century, in which the image seeks the support of the text, whether a simple caption or an entire article. All of this is clearly evident in his first novel.
