Abstract

This article examines some of the pillars of our school (the philology of the author), interweaving highly complementary methodological approaches: 1) the arduous definition of the author's role in traditions that are not or only partially autographic (from song poetry, marked by its multiple textual dynamism, to the cultured epic of the reign of the Habsburgs or the making and unmaking of Quevedo); 2) the stylistic evolution and the phases of elaboration of the masterpieces of Ludovico Ariosto, Torquato Tasso, Santa Teresa de Jesús, San Juan de la Cruz, Fernando de Herrera, Tommaso Stigliani, Giambattista Marino, Emanuele Tesauro and Juan de Jáuregui); and 3) the constitution and presentation of the texts themselves, both in their linguistic aspect and from the perspective of the stance that all good apparatus presupposes.
