Abstract

This paper, on the anthology Las flores en la poesía española, published by José Manuel Blecua in 1944, analyzes its content within the context of philological studies of the first postwar period. It examines the manner in which the texts’ selection transmits a clear progressive political intention, as well as a manner to understand and to study the literature linked to the old Centro de Estudios Históricos and the great Spanish school of philology. The latter was practically silenced at that time by exile or repression.
