DIGITAL ADVANCED REASONING TOOLS (IDRA), IN FORMAL EDUCATION AS A KEY FACTOR IN SITUATIONS OF ECONOMIC AND HEALTH CRISIS.
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the role of Advanced Digital Reasoning Tools (ADRT) in formal education during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on their impact on students’ economic resilience. A quantitative approach was used through a structured questionnaire applied to 50 upper-secondary and higher education students in the metropolitan area of Zacatecas, Mexico. The instrument measured three variables: educational level, use of ADRT, and economic impacts. Content validity was confirmed using Lawshe’s method (CVR = 0.84), and reliability was supported by a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.912.
Since the data did not follow a normal distribution (p < 0.05), non-parametric tests were used. Results show a significant positive correlation between the use of ADRT and reduced perception of economic hardship (r = -0.343; p = 0.015). However, no significant correlation was found between educational level and economic impact (r = -0.142; p = 0.093), suggesting that formal education alone is not sufficient to mitigate the effects of economic crises.
The findings underscore the importance of ADRT in enhancing students’ adaptability in both academic and economic contexts. The study recommends the systematic integration of these tools into educational programs, along with public policies aimed at reducing the digital divide and ensuring equitable access to digital resources. These insights contribute to the discussion on digital education as a resilience strategy in times of health and economic crisis.
