Abstract
This paper discusses the translation done in the 16th century in four fundamental texts: Étienne Dolet (Maniere de bien traduire d’une langue en aultre, 1540), Jacques Peletier du Mans (L’Art poétique d’Horace traduit en vers frangcais, 1541), Thomas Sébillet (Art Poétique Frangois, pour l’instruction des jeunes studieus, et encor peu avancez en la Poésie Frangoise, 1548) and Joachim Du Bellay (Defference et lllustration de la languae francoyse, 1549).
