Abstract

Epistolary exchanges constitute a communicative act which achieved one of their major exponents in England during the 18th century because of the letters written by Dr. Johnson and Horace Walpole, among others. In this context, a group of friends who lived in the country of Warwickshire established a literary circle whose letters are really interesting from a social and literary perspective, despite they have been less studied than other letter-writers. This paper aims a double objective: (i) the analysis of the most important members of the "Warwickshire Circle", and (ii) the study of their importance by translating Lady Luxborough’s letters.
