Hermes satirizado. La caricatura de un dios en los Diálogos de Luciano de Samosata

Abstract

Lucianus de Samosata is one of the lattest link in the chain of deterioration and banalization of the Greek myth in a process started many centuries before. Through the parody of the religious sacred tradition, this author carried out the most scathing and severe criticism in his works against the evils which, according to him, beset his contemporary society. This article centres on how Lucianus directed his bitter attacks against religious dogmatism and the faith of deceiving pseudophilosophers and wonder makers who flourished in the 2nd century A.D. With this purpose, we make avail of god Hermes' paradigm, by expressing extreme ridicule and satire in his Dialogues, but also by using as exceptional spectators the vices of society of those who are already in the world of the dead.
