Abstract

Reflection on the figure of the translator from the most careful Spanish editions of the Portuguese author Antonio Vieira, whose work - both in his native language and in the translated one - circulated with impetus in Spain of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. I write from publications that support the work of translators by the censors, and in those in which the translator's own voice appears when he points out the difficulties inherent in his work and his way of dealing with them.
