Abstract

The purpose of this article is to focus on the old and modern French editions of the work of François Villon, with an aim at offering a complete compilation of them, non done so far. Thus, we attempt to bridge the existent bibliographical gap, which in spite of the efforts made by Louis Thuasne, Jaques-Charles Brunet, Auguste Longnon, Abbé Prompsault, among other, could not do justice to the big number of re-editions of the work by the most outstanding French poet in the Middle Ages.
