Preservation, interoperability and research data policy
Preservation Policy
Psychology, Society & Education has through OJS (Open Journal System) an archiving system that guarantees its digital preservation.
This journal is part of the Public Knowledge Project’s Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN), which generates a decentralized archiving system, distributed among collaborating libraries, in order to create permanent archives of the journal for the preservation of the original contents and their restoration if necessary. To this end, the PKP PN module is activated. The updated list of journals preserved in PKP-PLN can be downloaded at the following link or by checking the archiving status of the journal in the ISSN portal.
Archived issues can be consulted in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) editorial manifest.
In addition, the Universidad de Córdoba develops several processes to guarantee the permanent accessibility of the digital objects it hosts on its own servers:
- Implementation of backup copies: Regular backup copies are made of all digital content.
- Monitoring of the technological environment: A continuous follow-up of the technological evolution is carried out to anticipate and manage possible format migrations or software obsolescence.
- Generation of digital preservation metadata: Specific metadata standards are applied for digital preservation, facilitating the management and long-term recovery of content.
- Assignment of the Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Each published digital object receives a DOI, guaranteeing its univocal and persistent identification in the digital environment. Moreover, authors should also identifier with their persistent ORCID identifiers.
- Metadata is deposited in national and international repositories, including Dialnet, and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), to enhance digital preservation.
Interoperability Protocols
This journal use the Open Journal Systems (OJS) editorial manager. This open-source software that ensures editorial management and interoperability through its compatibility with the OAI-PMH protocol (Open Archives Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) that allows other websites and information services to harvest the published content metadata.

If necessary, authors can consult the Registry of Research Data Repositories re3data considering that each repository has its own deposit rules.
If author have deposited datasets in a repository, they should mention it in the article providing a brief description of the type of data deposited, the name and URL of the repository, the identification code and the data of the license for use and distribution.
